A Series of Fortunate Events

Lloyd Dobler is pleased to present A Series of Fortunate Events for the start of 2007. Within the context of the gallery space, Lloyd will present work by the Mighty Bearcats. These artists will provide their 10-foot glass picnic table along with several lights to the gallery for the events. The Mighty Bearcats are three artists working in both furniture and design objects. Coloring night is the first event on Friday January 26th. Lloyd commissioned various artists to make unique drawings and activity pages for the first Lloyd Dobler coloring book. A list of participating artists is found on our website. Lloyd will also be providing materials for its patrons to draw directly on the wall in their bathroom as part of the event. The following week, there will be two game nights, with classics such as Scrabble, Trivia Pursuit, and Apples to Apples. The last of the events will be a Poker and Potluck night on February 8th, in which we encourage all to bring a dish to share and a little money to gamble. With these events, Lloyd Dobler is hoping to reach out into their local community as well as the greater Chicago area, providing a more interactive-based exhibition. All are welcome. Coloring books will be available for the duration of the exhibition for the cost of 2 dollars.
